Pietrasanta is a small beach resort in Versilia, currently the centre of international importance for processing marble and bronze. A reference point for sculptors from around the world, it is home to numerous galleries and big seasonal exhibitions. Great artists such as Igor Mitoraj, Jean Michel Folon, Fernando Botero, Pietro Cascella, Arnaldo Pomodoro and Joan Miró have donated important works to the town of Pietrasanta which deserves its title of the city of artists, from the amount of works on display on every corner downtown.
In the summer it becomes a literary salon for two months hosting The Coffee Versiliana, place of artistic and cultural meetings in the afternoon set in a magical atmosphere in the shade of those pines so loved by Gabriele d’Annunzio, who right here entertained with his literary friends and discussed with them about poetry and enterprises of love.
Versiliana now houses over 50 meetings with the most influential, famous, most glamorous people in the world of entertainment, culture, current events, sports, cinema, TV and more
