After the great success of the last year’s edition Versilia Wine Art Festival from Pietrasanta, returns again in 2010, from the 27th to the 29th of March; the event is promoted by the Municipality of Forte dei Marmi in co-operation with Versilia Wine Art Association. Born from a Stefano Bergamini, Gabriele Ghirlanda and Leone Ramacciotti’s idea, the event will offer a series of events, manifestations, tasting sessions and exhibitions, all centred on the wine theme. A real fusion between wine and art , that aims at underlying the important role carried on by Pietrasanta in the international artistic panorama. The 3-day schedule (27, 28 and 29 of March 2010) of the 2010 edition of the Versilia Wine Art Festival is going to be the following . The inauguration of the Festival will take place on the 27th of March, starting with 3 p.m., in Piazza Duomo of Pietrasanta with the opening of the stands, where the “Palavino” will be set up; the Palavino is a big structure that will host all the companies participating at this event. In this occasion, people will have the possibility to taste wines coming from all Italian regions, and also a selection of wines of the last grape harvest. At the entrance in the “Palavino”, visitors will receive a catalogue with a glass and a glass holder that will allow them to have access to the various tasting sessions. From the “Palavino”, crossing a carpet, visitors can access the famous St Agostino’s complex, inside of which there will be the “Chiostro del gusto d’Autore”, or better said a corner where people can taste exclusive gastronomic products presented by the most important Italian companies. Moreover, in St Agostino’s Church, there will be exhibited the works of important international artists dedicated to the world of the wine. Ultimately, in the programme of the Festival it is also scheduled the proclamation of the "Best White Wine of Summer 2010": with this recognition, Versilia Wine Art Festival intends to award a special and new wine that will characterize Summer 2010. A qualified jury made of a sommelier, professionals from the f&b area and trade journalists will choose the white wine that will deserve the prize; only white wines that are not already to be found in production will be admitted to the selection. The event Versilia Wine Art Festival has been inserted in the calendar of the most important Italian wine festivals; moreover, this event is being also advertised abroad by means of a press campaign promoted by the Association “Le strade del vino e dell’olio” from Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia.
