HIDDEN TREASURES OF TUSCANY - FRANCIGENA ROUTE

It was created to link Rome to Canterbury and it became an important cultural and commercial street in the middle-age: Via Francigena leads us to discover corners and secrets of the Versilia. On its path indeed were created hostels, churches, villages and wonderful castles in order to host pilgrims and merchants that were passing through there. The step of the Via Francigena that links Marina di Massa to Lucca, for example, reaches with a cycling lane Forte dei Marmi, Piatrasanta, the small “Italian Athens” and the historical center of the ancient Camaiore. Then, after going up on the Mount Magno, goes down until the valley, crossing the Serchio, reaching Lucca by a cycling lane.
